Work Groups and Partners

TRAINING, RECRUITMENT, COALITION DEVELOPMENT ACTION TEAM
  • Continually recruit new HEY! Community Coalition partners. (Especially for underrepresented sectors.)
  • Maintain a clearinghouse for ATOD and asset builing activities throughout the community utilizing the HEY Community Coalition Website Calendar.
  • Maintain HEY Community Coalition Website.
  • Support the efforts of the STOP Act funding, Healthy Communities, Healthy Youth, Project Success and other grant funding.
  • Begin planning for Collegiate CHILL program at PHCC
  • Search for funding opportunities (grants and other) to increase growth capacity of the coalition.
EDUCATION, AWARENESS AND ATOD ACTIVITIES
  • Participate in the planning, organizing and implementing of special activities that support the vision of the HEY Community Coalition. Utilizing all forms of media to promote activities.
  • Assett Building Training through specific activities as referenced by the coalition's plan of work.
  • Support all STOP Act, Project Success and other science based programs implemented by grants and funding provided to HEY Community Coalition and CHILL Youth Task Force.
POLICY CHANGE; ENVIRONMENTAL
  • Media Campaigns specifically aimed at parents regarding underage drinking laws and penalties, safety and health hazards, which include billboards, PSA's and distribution of educational materials.
  • Support policies that will strengthen limits on social hosting.
  • Work with local law enforcement to reduce the amount of prescription drugs available for abuse.
  • Provide Town Hall meeting to discuss current issues including prescription drug abuse.
  • Draw the community together to target underage drinking and develop strategies to curtail this problem.
  • Create and distribute Merchant Packets with information specific to the need. (ID rules, laws, penalties, and relaters responsibilities.
STATISTICS AND DATA EVALUATION
  • Work group will tabulate results of evaluations of programs and make recommendations for improvements and commendations for goals achieved.
  • PRIDE surveys will be evaluated yearly with an ongoing chart of achievements made by HEY AND CHILL Efforts.
  • Workgroup will implement a survey for parents regarding their beliefs, attitudes and behaviors around underage drinking to determine their view on the behavior of their child and their child's peers at school home and in the community.
  • Conduct Community Alcohol Personality Assessment periodically to determine effectiveness of changes being made.
